Treats awaiting you when you join this exclusive members’ club
- My own original compositions performed and produced by me, exclusively for you, my club members. Over 50 pieces of music (piano solos, concertos, and chamber music) are already recorded and produced. These and more will be added regularly as time goes.
- Favourite classical piano repertoire picked, performed and produced by me, exclusively for you. My initial pick includes individual pieces by over a dozen composers, as well as complete sets (e.g. all Mozart’s piano solo sonatas, all Chopin’s Nocturnes, all Liszt’s Liebestraume and Consolations, Schumann’s Kinderszenen, Schubert’s Impromptus, etc.), all performed to professional concert standard. As with my own compositions, these and other well-loved classical piano pieces will be added regularly for your enjoyment.
- Formats will include audio-videos, performance videos, study score videos, flipbook scores, as as well as analyses of compositions and performances. There will also be tips on, and glimpses into, my CMPMP (Contemplative Meditative Positive Mindset Pianism) style of piano playing with its many useful and helpful features, as well my PMGAM (Positive Mindset Guided Advanced Musicianship) which guide most of my musicianship.
- A glimpse also into my popular music compositions, arrangements, performances, and multimedia productions that are very unusual for an advanced classical musician. At first I feared the combination of classical and popular music might confuse or alienate potential audience, but I am reassured by many professionals in the music sphere that it may, in fact, qualify me as a significant and versatile musical talent of today.
- Anyway, more pleasant surprises and fun features already created will be introduced in future, after much music has been rolled out gradually, so as to avoid the potential confusion from introducing too much too soon.
A Word About the Header Video Performances Above
My Impromptu No.3 “Legend” is not about any one legendary figure or occasion. I tend to write pieces to generic titles like Impromptus, Fantasias, Suites, Concertos, etc, then find a name or subtitle that I think will give the performer and listener an idea of how to play and listen to each particular piece the way I myself feel about it.
The Impromptu “Legend”, with its power, drama, and nuances expresses a psychological principle that is central to my work and life experience in general. That principle is one of regularly facing up to the many challenges of life, (often reflected in my music with titles like “Disappointment”, “Adversity”, “Tribulations” “Poignant Tales”, etc,) struggling sometimes but eventually finding the strength within oneself to deal effectively with the difficulties, and achieving through sustained and disciplined contemplative-meditative practices (including CMPMP) more peace, equilibrium and self-knowledge; qualities which are expressed in my many compositions with subtitles like “Serenity”, “Tranquillity”, “Solitude”, “Introspection”, “Blessings”, “Contemplations”, “A Gentle Prayer”, and many others.
The second piece in the video is Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune”, one the world’s favourite classical piano pieces. I include it because its beautifully calm and peaceful mood with its poetic character makes it a good choice to demonstrate my preferred style of classical piano playing, i.e. CMPMP (Contemplative Meditative Positive Mindset Pianism). At the same time it enables me to demonstrate my ability to perform standard classical piano repertoire at a professional concert pianist level.
After this explanation, I hope my club members will now be in a better position to understand some of the emotional or psychological inspirations behind my works. That is a good foundation for going on to explore and appreciate the actual music techniques and musicianship skills that I use to express those inner feelings in ways that make the music technically coherent even though sometimes complex, as well as aesthetically and emotionally accessible with really only a relatively small but consistent amount of effort required on the listeners’ part.
